Thoughts On The Street
January 31, 2026
So, at some point, I will write about other things, but right now it seems frivolous to do so while government sponsored, masked gunmen are gunning down innocent citizens in the streets, and this same government is asking me to disbelieve the evidence right before my eyes. I am being told to deny what my eyes and ears behold. I am being told that woke is evil, but it is not evil. It’s the truth. Those who lie to us and expect a lie in return are evil.
Yes, I do believe that our country is a beacon to the world, that far and wide we have done many good things, but that does not erase a history of genocide and slavery - each of which in great part contributed to the wealth and power of the United States - the effects of each still apparent in all aspects of our culture. For God’s sake, slaves built the White House and a Black architect designed Washington, D.C.! Call me woke, but that’s the truth. Is it wrong to acknowledge the irony that Negro troops fought for democracy in World War II in segregated units commanded by White officers? Call me woke but I want to know why the Smithsonian is playing down an exhibit dedicated to the Tuskegee airmen? Well, of course, I know why: racism, blatant racism at the highest levels of our government. I’m woke, damn it! That’s how come I know it.
Thank God for cell phones. What we’re seeing in the streets of our cities today is despicable - a lynch mob of masked men, a slave patrol, a pogrom where people are pried out of cars and locked up under deplorable conditions. Is due process only for white people? There is nothing I can say any better than what’s already been said, nothing I can tell you that you haven’t already seen and heard. My sympathies are obvious. What is happening is just plain wrong. I think what gets to me more than anything else is the political cowardice. Did you see that last cabinet meeting? Grown men and women with their lips planted on the president’s ass? Not a thing of substance, just lips on ass. How can you look yourself in the mirror, man? How can you face your kids?

I’m Woke as well. I just can’t wrap my head around a congress that would allow ICE to be so barbaric. Blaming protesters for driving away or for helping others. Shooting tear gas into crowds or , in one case, into a person’s face.
ICE OUT!
