Absolute poetry. What inspired choices of words from "in a tumult" and "tonsures" on by "creek swings BRASHLY" to "AT TiMes the TuMulT MakeS SenSe." What a nice little cruise along language you give us here!

Stephen, I love your post. Short, poignant, and so consciously and attentively real! This first day of daylight savings in Laurel Canyon is predicted to have a heat-alert heatwave and major gusts of Santa Ana winds, but it's quiet at the moment and butterflies, birds and bees are all happily flying around in my (for once) very green and flowering hillside.

As always, almost like being there.

And as for the tumult. Perfect word choice. Checked my thesaurus: Turbulent, chaotic, disorderly, noisy, stormy, uproarious, riotous, agitated, hectic. Yep, that pretty much sums it up.

Another great piece, my friend.
